Biofilms

The Hot Tub Wizard

Did you know there was a hidden culprit lurking in your hot tub? This same problem is also hiding in your dishwasher, washing machine and plumbing. Biofilms come from bacteria feeding on organic materials in the dark nooks and crannies. This is the same slimy material you find when you take your sink drain apart to unclog it. Sometimes it shows up as a slimy film on your filters.

Biofilms will increase your sanitizer demand and shorten the life of salt cells. Although you may have never heard of them before, they have been there all along, causing problems you never realized. The good news is there is a way to manage biofilms by flushing them out of your plumbing.

I have been in this business for almost 40 years and never heard of biofilms in my plumbing as I assumed the chlorine was keeping it clean but I treated my tub which was only 6 months old at the time and was amazed with what came out.
