fake scepter salt cell

Here we go again, another wave of fraud on Amazon. Some instances involve people returning the fake Scepters® in our packaging, people being deceived by listings that show packaging very similar to ours and people that think all the ACE® replacement cells are all the same.

Last week we received a return that was one of our cells approximately 3 years old in a package that was dated March 2026. This is getting out of hand and we’ll have to find a way to combat this problem that is unique to Amazon. I am not going to put all the blame on Amazon as there are customers that take advantage of their very liberal return policy which is totally in favor of the customer.

Some of the Amazon policies are due to dishonest sellers. I am seeing more articles about people that are being deceived into buying things that are not what they are advertised as. Memory card listings are being taken over by fraudulent products. I have been finding that there are a lot of inferior pool products by questionable sellers. Clothing & shoes are also getting risky. I have been finding the need to look for manufacturers websites in order to know I am getting the real thing.

Imagine the trauma of having to buy things outside of Amazon where you have to enter in a credit card number. Thanks to autofill and the latest shopping cart technology, this is brought to a minimum.

I have done my best to make returns easy and honor warranties with little hassle. I’m sure some have slipped through the cracks.

We will have to make changes to deal with the Amazon fraud. Thankfully, all of my website customers have been great. It is easier in the long run to buy direct but if you must buy from Amazon make sure the sold by is Pool Spa Efficiency, LLC.
