After 5 years of customers asking if we have a replacement cartridge, we finally have one. We were not content with business as usual. It seems wasteful to throw away a cartridge every 3 or 4 months, so why not make one that lasts longer? The Scepter2 is designed for a minimum lifespan of 1 year. Because of constant inquiries, we decided to release it now with a 6 month warranty and bump it up to 1 year after more time in the field. On paper, it should last longer than 1 year and we have several in the field being tested by real hot tub owners, so far, with good success.

Warranty information
Experience shows us that as the cell wears, it often indicates a low salt level. When the cell is replaced, the control panel will often say to call for service until salt is dissolved, water is at least 95 degrees and in the 1750 ppm salt range.
Physical damage to cell or excessive calcium buildup is not covered under warranty. All salt cells need occasional cleaning by soaking in white vinegar when scale buildup is noticeable.
Using phosphate remover will help extend cell life if you have phosphates.
Warranty claims are no hassle but require an RMA & return of cell. Warranty time starts 2 weeks after shipping date. Most problems can be addressed over the phone or email. In the event a cell is found defective, a new one will be sent in 1-3 business days after receipt of old cell. Most warranty claims can be resolved with a picture of the cell, status indicator screen and salt level.

When will my order ship?
We typically ship same day for orders received before 10am Mountain Time. After that, orders are typically shipped the next business day.

What hardness should I keep my water at?
It is recommended to maintain water hardness in the 250-350ppm range if your tub is not offered new with a salt option.
What kind of salt do I have to use for a hot tub?
There are several options. Non-iodized table salt, Kosher salt, rock salt, solar salt, pool salt and hot tub salt. Pink salt or Dead Sea salt can also be used but contain other elements that can reduce the production of chlorine. Also, the beneficial minerals get oxidized by chlorine and end up trapped in the filters.
